This week we are celebrating our sixth birthday at Hey Me! From our managing director, Amy, beginning as a freelancer six years ago, to our small, yet mighty team of communications experts working flexibly around the country, we are celebrating our growth and progress.
The past few years have seen a steady influx of new businesses and projects, with projects such as our website redesign for HIRD Group to better represent the group of companies in the rail industry. This year we’ve also been involved in some exciting projects with our transport technology client, 3Squared, such as their parent company rebrand launch and their acquisition of fellow transport tech company, FabDigital. Our team were pleased to secure great coverage from across trade, business and regional publications sharing these brilliant stories.
At Hey Me, we pride ourselves on providing all our team with flexible working opportunities, as we believe flexibility and agility supports our team to thrive. By supplying our team with a flexible working pattern, this allows team members to take care of other responsibilities or challenges including childcare, studying, or living with a chronic illness or a disability whilst thriving professionally.
This year, we pledged to be a Living Wage Employer, making a commitment to staff welfare by paying our employees according to the Living Wage rate. We proudly joined the Mindful Employer charter, as we strive to support staff wellbeing across the board. In July this year, we announced that Hey Me became a Disability Confident Employer as we achieved a new quality mark by joining the Disability Confident Initiative. We are so proud to have joined these initiatives and will continue to advocate for flexibility and wellbeing in the workplace in years to come.
As the fight against climate change continues, we are dedicated towards increasing awareness of the climate crisis. We are proud to work with clients who promise to reduce carbon emissions or place a focus on environmental impact. We have also produced articles on how companies can utilise their communications to contribute towards the fight against climate change, which can be read here.
To celebrate our birthday this year, we’re giving back in a sustainable way and are planting dedicated trees with the National Forest. The team each chose a tree which resonated with them before donating our saplings. Read their thoughts here:
Content Development Manager, Jen, has chosen an oak tree:
“It resonates as I think I have gained a lot of strength and stability from being honest in both my home and work life. It underpins trust and has helped me to develop strong relationships with people”.
Senior Communications Executive, Amelia, has chosen a hazel tree:
“Hazel resonates as I really enjoy the opportunity to learn new things and build skills and knowledge which I’ve been supported a lot with while working at Hey Me”.
PR and Communications Manager, Emma, has chosen the birch tree:
“The concept of new beginnings and renewal associated with birch chimes with me as I prepare to return from my maternity leave in September. It has been an exciting new chapter having my second child and I look forward to coming back to Hey Me and joining the team, as it grows and flourishes in the year ahead and beyond”.
Senior Communications Executive, Lydia, has chosen alder tree:
“The qualities of determination and confidences associated with the alder tree resonate with me.”
Business Support Admin, Laura, has chosen an alder tree:
“I have also chosen alder, which represents determination and confidence. Two qualities that I’ve seen in many members of the Hey Me team – a determination to achieve excellence in everything we do, and a quiet confidence in what we deliver for our clients”.
Business Support Manager, Katie, has chosen a lime tree:
“The tree that resonates with me is lime. This is associated with qualities such as liberty and fertility.”
Our Founder and Managing Director, Amy, has chosen the hornbeam tree:
“I decided on the hornbeam tree as it represents confidence, resilience, and strength, three imperative qualities for navigating a business.”
