Hey Me marks 8th birthday with powerful brand refresh
Posted by Amy Bell on 21 August 2025

To celebrate Hey Me’s 8th birthday, we decided to treat ourselves to a fresh rebrand, updating our visual identity. As is often the way when you enter a new chapter, Hey Me fancied a spruce-up!

Over the past eight years, a lot has changed within the company and we wanted to ensure that our branding captures our energy, what we offer, and what we believe in now.

We worked closely with Rosie from Rapport Creative to create a new colour palette and mood board before updating the logos and creative background imagery using the new, brighter and bolder colours. Our branding forms our identity and ensures that we stand out from others.

Rosie Houghton, from Rapport Creative Design said: “It’s important to keep checking in with your visual identity as your business grows and develops, to ensure it still communicates the things you want to be known for and the image you want to project.

An injection of bold colour was just what Hey Me’s identity needed to better reflect their engaging, no-jargon approach. New background images add a sense of fun and help show off the team’s personality”.

Your branding establishes your unique identity and sets you apart from other companies in your field. It’s the part that captures your audience’s attention and gives them a feel for who you are and what you stand for.

When working with our clients, we like to begin by laying the foundations, really getting to know who they are and what they’re trying to achieve. This helps us to develop a clearly defined strategic message and brand story unique to every business. Once we have perfected the language, we often get stuck into crafting a visual brand identity, working from the ground up. We work collaboratively with designers to build brand toolkits and brand guidelines that complete the foundations for all communications activities.

Reflecting on the rebrand, Amy Jeffs, Founder and Managing Director at Hey Me, shares her thoughts on why the time was right for a refresh.

“The original branding was developed when there was only me in the company. I was very much focusing on the quiet, behind the scenes, delivery of freelance marketing communications services now, eight years later we want to step out from behind the work and shout about ourselves a little more, our passion for strategic messaging and brand storytelling and our dedication to helping businesses enter or grow in their chosen markets.”

Our values and services remain the same and always will – however, we felt that the time was right to elevate our visual identity, in turn ensuring that it reflects our voice and enables our message to stand out in a crowded space. As businesses grow and evolve, it’s important to pause every once in a while, and make sure the way you present yourself still resonates with the people you are trying to reach. This is something that we always tell our clients, so the time was nigh for us to do the same for Hey Me.

We hope you enjoy our new brand and if you would like to find out how we could help you to develop your brand identity, get in touch with us via Contact – Hey Me.

“Since day one, Amy herself has fit seamlessly into our team, understanding the message we want to convey and the audiences we want to reach. Her upfront audit was invaluable in helping us internally hone our common voice, which has demonstrated itself in the consistency of the content we put out as a brand and as individuals within the company. Behind the scenes, Amy has instinctively adopted our internal communication methods (Slack, SharePoint) and works closely with our in-house graphic design team to ensure our graphics and copy are in sync.” Lucy Prior MBE - previously from 3Squared 2021
“After meeting Amy a few years ago, I was able to provide her with an opportunity to manage the comms on a major alliance, alongside Marie from Doodle HR, which she flourished at. Amy helped me to implement a more structured approach, freeing up my time to work more closely with clients and create new content. Hey Me are easy to deal with and quick to provide valuable solutions; I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Amy and the team again” Karen Duncan - Lanehead Coniston
“Working with Hey Me is very straight forward - they take you through whatever process is needed, with clear instruction and good ideas. Since working with Hey Me, Zak Mobility now has a strong brand identity and purposeful website that is fit for purpose. I would recommend Hey Me to other companies, as they do a professional job with a friendly face.” Sam Pearce - CEO, Zak Mobility
“As a member of the RIA SME Leadership team, Amy ran a slimdown version of the Hey Me messaging workshops in 2023. The workshops helped the team to delve deeper into what the SME group stood for, what it meant to them as individuals and businesses and what they wanted to gain from communications. By holding up a mirror to those in the group and using a tiered approach, the group was able to find a common purpose and with Hey Me's help, a common language which best represented the aims of the leadership team and our RIA SME members. The fantastic results of this can be seen in action on our SME page of our website.” Isabella Lawson - Railway Industry Association
